With the future of Mesut Ozil at Arsenal coming into question of late due to rumors of wage disagreements and a lack of trophies for the Premier League club, many have been feeling that the German attacking midfielder may be leaving the Gunners in the near future.
However, with no real movements having been shown of yet by Ozil himself or those said to be interested in him, Michael Ballack has come out expressing that he feels that a move to Bayern Munich would be the right decision for his fellow German at this point in his career:
“Mesut is an amazing player. He knows that he is one of the undisputed stars at Arsenal. A lot of clubs would love to have him. But if he wants to win a major title, he has a bigger chance to achieve that at Bayern.” Via ibtimes.co.in
The thing which may stand in the way of his move to Bayern Munich is the price tag that will be on Ozil’s head. If Bayern wish to sign him, they may have to break their philosophy of getting players cheap and training them up in the Bayern way. However, Ballack has outwardly been promoting this, as the Germany legend continues:
“If you look at the recent developments in England and China, it seems inevitable that Bayern will soon pay transfer fees of €50million or so as well. They have to if you want to keep competing with the best. If you want to bring in a world-class player, you will have to invest.” Via ibtimes.co.in
Although its all just rumours at the moment, Bayern may well be looking for a player in the position, with Thomas Muller really having faltered this season, and Ozil may be the man to fill the spot.

With Philipp Lahm having announced his upcoming retirement, Bayern Munich will be looking at finding a suitable replacement for the club legend over the coming months. The spot will certainly be a hard one to fill, but there are certainly plenty of options out there that Bayern have been looking at of late, with the latest target seemingly being a good fit.
That man is Bayern Leverkusen’s 19 year old right back, Benjamin Henrichs. The youngster has recently made a breakthrough and secured a starting spot in the Bundesliga side, something that’s pretty impressive for a player of his age. As a result, understandably, he’s been attracting a fair amount of attention.
Not only has he been capped for Germany’s senior international side, but has also played in 17 Bundesliga games this season, also featuring in all 6 of Leverkusen’s Champions League matches. The player therefore looks to be like a promising prospect, and should Bayern go for him, he could be the man to replace Lahm.
However, it’s not a case of all Bayern’s eggs being in one basket, as the German side have also been eyeing other options, as you can see from the article below, but Henrichs is certainly one to consider for the future.
It really seems that ‘chill’ is not a word that the men behind Bayern Munich’s twitter account have ever come across, but for us as fans, that just makes their social media presence a whole lot more entertaining. The account is becoming pretty renowned for it’s trolling and jokes of late, as we have seen on multiple occasions, most recently with Arsenal after Bayern drew them in the Champions League.
However, it seems that this was not a one off, as Bayern Munich have recently trolled a Manchester United fan out of the blue, which has put many in hysterics, and rightfully so!
With the official Champions League account tweeting out the fixtures of next week to get everyone hyped, Bayern responded with their enthusiasms as follows:

However, it seems that one Manchester United fan seemed intent on making a dig, who voiced his opinions on Alaba and Ribery’s dab with the up-most disgust. However, Bayern were quick to put him in his place, in the most savage of ways:

Most Manchester United fans probably didn’t appreciate the joke, but ultimately the club were on the defensive, even if they should really know better. But who are we to complain, after all, it was pretty funny…
Over the past couple of days a rather surprising rumour has come out of the blue about the potential future of Douglas Costa as a Bayern Munich player. The 26 year old revealed that he had received some offers from other clubs in both Europe and China during the latest transfer window, and with him not getting starting 11 first team football week in week out, many took this that the player was hinting at a move away at the seasons end.
Although Bayern and Ancelotti may potentially be willing to let this happen should the right offer come in, they wanted to reiterate that they are neither looking to sell the player, nor is the player actively looking for a move away from the club, as Ancelotti has revealed that the winger is happy playing for the Bavarians at this current moment:
“I didn’t read the interview, but I speak to him regularly, he is satisfied to be here.
“When it comes to the happiness or the sadness of the player, there are agents who maybe want to put pressure on the club, who want to be more involved.
“I have a direct relationship with the player. He’s happy to stay here, he is involved and that counts for me. I think the interview came more from the agent than from the player.” Via sportsmole.co.uk
In this sense, we don’t have anything to worry about in terms of Costas desire, as at least until the end of the season the player will remain a loyal attribute to the club, and will continue to be a man who shows desire and wants to be here.
Hopefully he can help do this in Bayern’s match tonight against Wolfsburg in the DFB-Pokal as Bayern look to progress in the cup competition.
Big money offers have been the talk of the season so far, as the transfer record was broken with Paul Pogbas move to Manchester United at the start of the season, and the seemingly never ending rumours of big money offers coming in for European players from China and the Premier League. However, much of this talk doesn’t reach as far as the media, and one man who has apparently been sought after is Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa.

Whilst Bayern have completely rejected similar offers that have been made for the likes of Thomas Muller of late, the German man is a fundamental figure at the club, but the same can’t be said for the Brazilian. As a result it seems that Bayern have been tempted to look towards selling the player following interest from Premier League clubs. Furthermore, this all came about from Costa himself, as the 26 year old revealed of late the following:
‘We got some strong offers from China and also from big clubs from Europe. When the season is over, we will sit down and analyse everything.
‘First of all, I am only focused on ending the season with all the titles I can win. It is not my idea to leave Bayern now. I want to win titles.
‘I like Bayern and I think I can win titles with Bayern to reach the highest technical level of my career, to go for the Ballon d’Or, the Champions League, the Club World Cup. I want to win all sorts of titles and then the World Cup with the Brazilian national team.’
‘Then we will think about new markets. I cannot comment on names, but there are contacts with teams from England, Spain and also France.’ Via metro.co.uk
Even if Bayern are to cash in on Costa in the summer, we can be pleased that he was not allowed to leave in January, as not only has he been a good performer generally for Bayern so far this season, but he also works as a perfect man to step in when Franck Ribery is unavailable for the first team.
Robert Lewandowski is undoubtedly one of the best talents that Poland have ever seen when it comes to the footballing world, as the player who comes from a country that is hardly renowned for it’s football has become one of the greatest strikers in the world in the modern generation.
This has ultimately been reflected in Lewandowski’s domination of the Polish footballer of the year award competition over the past few years, and this hasn’t changed as the forward has recently been given the prize for a 6th consecutive season.
However, it’s an award that seems pretty fair, as Lewandowski had yet another great footballing calendar year for both club and country over the course of 2016: He scored 47 goals in total across the year, won the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Supercup at club level, and helped Poland to the last 16 of the Euro’s in the summer – all round, a pretty good achievement for the 28 year old.
However, it seems the novelty of the award hasn’t yet completely worn off for Lewy, tweeting his delight:

With the striker almost undoubtedly set to lead the line for Bayern week in week out, we can hope that he performs for the side on Tuesday night when Bayern take on Wolfsburg in the DFB-Pokal, in the hope of continuing a cup run this season.
Although Bayern did not have too much to celebrate in terms of the result on Saturday as the drew 1-1 at home to a strong Schalke side, it was not all a day of doom and gloom for the League leaders entirely.
Firstly, whilst Bayern dropped points, chasing side RB Leizpig also dropped points fortunately for Bayern, as they lost 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund, now putting them 4 points adrift of Bayern Munich at the top of the table.

However, secondly, and more importantly to us Bayern fans, a certain Philipp Lahm made his 500th, yes 500th appearance for the Bavarian side. The Captain was brought on in the 2nd half, likely to allow for the standing ovation which followed.
The game ultimately didn’t end as planned, but it was still an enjoyable affair for both Lahm and fans alike, as one of the clubs greatest ever legends really made his mark by reaching such an amazing milestone. Thanks for all the service Philipp!
Thiago was unfortunately injured during Bayern Munich’s winter training camp over the course of December and January, rendering him out of action as a starting player for Bayern’s first couple of matches back following the break.

His absences has been rather notable too, with Bayern having been yet to impress in any of their games of 2017 thus far, having only managed a last minute winner against SC Freiburg, a 1 goal victory against Werder Bremen, and most lately, a 1-1 draw against Schalke at the Allianz-Arena. This means that Bayern are not only yet to keep a clean sheet in 2017, but have also only had narrow victories or laboured draws, something that Ancelotti is slightly concerned with:
“We were not compact enough. It’s about team work. I’m sure we will work together against Wolfsburg.
“You can compare Wolfsburg with Schalke. Things aren’t working so well – they’re not so good in terms of the table.
“They have good players. I think they’ll come to play defensively and then counterattack. We’ll have to put all our effort out onto the pitch.
“We’ve been working hard lately and maybe we didn’t deliver what we’re capable of in the last three games.
“We’ve focused on preparing the players for difficult spells.” Via goal.com
With this in mind, and with Thiago having been such a fundamental player to the side for Ancelotti this season, the player will be a very welcome return. However, with Bayern’s next match being their DFB-Pokal game against Wolfsburg on Tuesday night, many would have thought the player may not yet feature and be saved for the league where Bayern will be taking on FC Ingolstadt at the weekend. But it seems Ancelotti has decided to call upon the Spaniard, and he will both be available and a welcomed returnee:
“Thiago can help us with his quality. He is ready and he can play 90 minutes. He’ll be in the starting line-up.
“Kimmich trained today [Monday], he is fit and has no more problems. All the other players are in good shape. They’ve recovered well.” Via goal.com
Lets hope that Bayern can do the business on the night, as although the league really is the main priority, it would be nice to have a cup run as well this season as always.
With two such prolific attacking players playing at any one club, there will always be disagreement bound to arise, and we have seen that happening in the past between Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski, as arguments on the pitch have been rather frequent in games gone by.
With their differing styles of play, the two did clash a bit to begin with, but with Lewandowski now having been at Bayern for 3 years, the forward has stated the duo’s relationship is now much better compared to what it was previously. The Polishman has stated that he now has a great feeling when he plays with Robben, having become used to Robben’s play style down to the finest detail:
“Things were a bit difficult between me and Robben at first. I had to get used to him, I have to be honest about that.
“Our styles of play were very different, things were just not completely right. But look at how things are now.
“We only need to look at each other one second to know what the other is going to do. That is an amazing feeling on the pitch. He knows what I want and the other way around.
“Arjen is a great player and a very nice guy.” Via kickoff.com
Nobody wants to hear about two players not getting on at the club they support, as team chemistry is so very important to success when it comes to interplay on the pitch. This news is therefore very encouraging, and it seems that Bayern family is stronger than ever.

It is often the other way round when it comes to transfer rumours, as many Europe sides often resent British football for their ridiculous transfer offers and sums of money available at their disposal. However, with one of the world’s most shining talents being located at one of the Premier League sides at the moment, many in the rest of Europe have been showing their interest in the player in the hope that they will be able to pry him away from Tottenham Hotspur.
The player in question, of course, is 20 year old English midfielder, Dele Alli.
In all competitions the youngster has 13 goals and 5 assists in 30 appearances, and has really found some great form of late in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues, helping Tottenham to a 2nd place position at this current moment.
However, with the likes of Bayern and Real Madrid having expressed a keen desire to bring Alli to their sides, Tottenham have responded, stating that they would accept no less than € 100 million for the player, a similar amount to what the Spurs sold Gareth Bale for.
With Dele having signed a new contract recently, keeping him at Spurs until at least 2022, Daniel Levy has no real reason to sell the player, who is seemingly very happy at the club. This very much explains the significant price tag on the midfielder, and as a result, it is highly unlikely that Bayern will pursue him any further. Whether or not Real Madrid also back out is another a matter, but realistically such a figure for the player is rather extortionate.
