It is no secret that Bayern boast one of the best defenses in the World, with the likes of Manuel Neuer, David Alaba, Philipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng, and summer signing Mats Hummels to name but a few. However, it seems that Bayern are not content with just these players, and as a result the bavarians have been scouting a youngster who potentially may join their ranks in the near future.
Granted, backing up Boateng and Hummels are Javi Martinez and Holger Badstuber, both equally world class defenders in their own right. But with Javi Martinez more readily playing in a midfield role, and Holger Badstuber and Jerome Boateng having proven somewhat injury prone over the past season or so, Bayern Munich were resorted to using Joshua Kimmich at centre back at times last season.
To avoid this from happening again, therefore, it seems that Bayern have turned their attentions to signing another central defender, eyeing up Niklas Sule. The young defender is only 21 years of age, and will have impressed the Bayern scouts with Hoffenheim having held Bayern at the Allianz in a 1-1 draw this weekend. Sule’s side also remain unbeaten so far in the league – an achievement any defender can be proud of, let alone a 21 year old.
However, if Bayern are to secure the player they will have to act fast, as the central defender is hot topic for many clubs at the moment, having attracted the interest of Liverpool. Dortmund, Chelsea and Inter Milan in recent months.
There has been slight speculation that Mesut Ozil may be set to leave Premier League club Arsenal in the near future with the player having attracted interest from a number of clubs including Bayern Munich. The issue for the player was previously money, as the Champions League’s sides key player has been in the form of his life over the past few months, not only amounting a great number of assists by scoring some fine goals, something that many believe is a new addition to the players game.
However, unfortunately for Bayern, it seems that Arsenal have managed to secure a new contract with the player that will extend his current deal, which was supposed to last until 2018, until 2021. With the player currently on £140,000 a week, there have been reports that the player will be receiving £200,000 a week in his new deal, with some even reporting that he will be paid as much as £240,000 a week.
One thing that certainly would have gone a long way to speeding up the contract process on Arsenals end, to ward off any potential interest from the likes of Bayern, was the spectacular goal that the player scored in the Champions League recently against Ludogrets.
When manager Arsene Wenger was asked about the goal, he compared the player to the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, going on to state that if Ozil was to sign a new contract he would more than likely go on to become a club legend:
“There are similarities with Bergkamp. I think he can become a legend – if he commits.
“Dennis Bergkamp committed for a long period, played until he was 38
“I wish we have ten more years of Ozil. That depends on. To become a legend at the club, you need to stay for a long time. If you stay two years, you would not be a legend.
“We work on it (the contract), we work on it.” Via 1nildown2oneup.net
It is a shame for Bayern, as the player is performing as one of the best in the world right now, but the club are reportedly turning their attentions to Isco now, who would also be a good addition in a similar position to the German.
Bayern have been strongly linked to Everton Striker Romelu Lukaku of late, as the bavarian’s look to bolster their strike force, only really having Lewandowski to call upon as an out and out striker. However, whilst Bayern and many other clubs have had their eyes set on signing Lukaku in the January transfer windows, Everton manager Ronald Koeman has stated that the player will have to wait until the end of the season before the manager even considers selling him. When asked about the speculation, Koeman couldn’t have been more firm in his answer:
“I read some stories in the press about January, but no way, no way.”
“Bayern Munich, Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona… he stays until at least the end of the season.” Via dailypost.co.uk
Koeman does agree that the player is Everton’s talisman, having signed from Chelsea on a permanent deal in back in 2014 after a successful loan spell with the club over the previous season. And whilst Koeman also agrees that the player deserves to be playing Champions League football, he states that the club can be proud to have someone of his calibre amongst their ranks, even if this will not last for the foreseeable future:
“That needs to be the next step for him but we, as Evertonian people, can be proud that he made that step. But let’s score goals and that is best answer he can give.” Via dailypost.co.uk
That being said, Koeman does go onto state that he was afraid to lose Lukaku in the summer, with the likes of Chelsea having put in big money offers for the player. To read more on how much Koeman values the player and what he feels made him stay, you can read the interesting daily post article linked below.
So for Bayern at least, it looks like they will have to wait a little longer if they really have their heart set on signing the prolific Belgian forward.
With it often being the case that Premier League club’s raid other leagues for the best talent, Bayern may be about to give England a taste of their own medicine, as the club are reportedly lining up a bid for a striker who goes by the name of Romelu Lukaku. The Everton man is considered to be one of the best strikers in the world at the moment, and at the young age of just 23, the Belgian has the potential to go onto become a top top player over the next few years.
However, It is unlikely that Everton would complain about the loss of their main man too much, as the rumoured fee that Bayern are set to put in is an astounding £65 million.
Whilst many might be surprised at the size of this fee, strikers have become ever more expensive over the past few years, and one of such talent is hard to come by in the modern game. Furthermore, Lukaku would arguably be worth such a price, as the striker consistently scores goals in top flight football, having netted 6 times in 8 games in the current campaign. But with Bayern already having Polish goalscorer Robert Lewandowski in their ranks, would Lukaku play regular first team football? A change in system would definitely be needed to accommodate for this.
Either way, we could see the forward making a move to the club in the summer, as Lukaku has strongly expressed his desires to play Champions League football of late, with Everton having failed to qualify since Romelu joined permanently from Chelsea back in 2014.

Vincent Thill is certainly making a new for himself in world football at the moment. At the current age of just 16, the player has already been capped at senior level for Luxembourg, as well as having made his first team debut in his current club Metz’s clash with fellow Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.
With so much attention surrounding a player of such a young age, the youngster was bound to attract the attention of the big dogs sooner or later, as Thill’s agent has disclosed has become the case this week:
“Bayern thought he was available for an interesting transfer fee, but that was not what Metz had in mind. The transfer did not happen for financial reasons. But I also think it was important for Vincent to sign his first professional deal with Metz.” Via sportsmole.co.uk
Although many Bayern fans would be delighted to see such an outstanding talent of such a young age come to the club, the bavarians are going to have to act quickly if they are to secure the signing of the player, as other teams have also become interested in securing Thill:
“I can confirm that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on him, but I do not know if [Zinedine] Zidane personally called him. But Madrid and Bayern are not the only teams that have shown an interest in him. There are other big teams as well. You do not see a 16-year-old play in Ligue 1 every day.” Via sportsmole.co.uk
With the likes of Real Madrid and other big names all tracking the player, it will be a tough scrap between the top dogs of Europe to see who can secure the youngster from Metz, if at all. His agent certainly admires the players talent:
“He is an extraordinary talent, with a magical left foot. He can do incredible things. He obviously has to develop physically, but he is an amazing player when it comes to his vision and the way he sees things.” Via sportsmole.co.uk
Like he said, it isn’t every day you see a 16 year old debut in one of Europe’s top 5 major leagues.
With Bayern looking to sign future talent as many of their first team players are reaching the tail end of their careers with the club, a new name has cropped up this week as scouts from the club went to watch Celtic and Scotland left-back, Kieran Tierney, in their 3-3 Champions League clash with Manchester City.
Another Celtic player who Bayern are rumoured to be tracking took all the headlines on the night, young forward Moussa Dembele, as he scored two goals. But with Bayern technical director Michael Reschke determined to improve the bavarian’s youth recruitment after the club was deemed to be falling behind other international giants of the game, scouts have also been tracking the 19 year old defender.
The player certainly did not disappoint the scouts, as although he had to deal with a fast, confident, in form Raheem Sterling, the player put in a good defensive shift against his opposite number, showing his capabilities to learn from mistakes in big contests after his side improved from Celtic’s 7-0 loss to Barcelona.
The rapid progress made by the player over the last year or so has to many of Europe’s top clubs becoming interested, and with continued progression, the player is likely to be a target for many in January.
However, having said this, the Scotsman will be in no rush to leave his boyhood club, and manager Brendan Rodger’s will be determined to hold onto the youngster as he wants to keep his ranks bolstered for the Champions League. It’s obvious the player is a fan favourite:
Celtic pulled off what can only be considered some Champions League heroics on Wednesday night as the Scottish side fought hard to manage a 3-3 draw against Manchester City in their second match of the group stage. The victory can be considered a big achievement for the club, especially after their 7-0 loss to Barcelona in the previous game. With such a tough group, Celtic are not expected to progress and did well to manage a point against the in-form Pepe Guardiola side.
One player in particular stood out from the crowd for Celtic; a young Moussa Dembele, as he netted 2 goals during the match. Since moving from Fulham in the summer, the wonder-kid has been in fine form for his new side, scoring 5 times in his last 3 matches for the club, having also managed a hatrick in the old firm Derby just a few weeks back.
With the player having been linked with some top clubs during the transfer window, the player moved to Celtic in order to continually get game time and develop on the pitch, as manager Brendan Rodgers explains:
“We’re fortunate to have him. He was coveted by a number of teams but his agent is a clever guy. Does he go to a so-called better league and sit on the bench and not get so many games? Or does he come to a big club with an opportunity to develop and invest some time into his development, and then step up if that’s what he wants to do?” Via 360nobs.com
However, because of his recent performances, the bigger clubs are now more interested in him than ever. With European giants Arsenal and Real Madrid looking to acquire the player, Bayern Munich are also in the race to sign him. Scouts from all three clubs watched the player in the match against Manchester city as the player impressed in front of goal.
With Lewandowski arguably Bayern’s talisman, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to have such a young prolific forward in the ranks for the Polish mans absence.
It is expected that the player will receive big money offers come January, and it is likely Bayern will join in with the bidding if the forward continues his fine form.
Portuguese Benfica star Alex Grimaldo is currently of significant interest to some of Europe’s bigger clubs at the moment apparently, with other interest coming from English clubs Manchester City and Arsenal.
However, Bayern will have to act quickly if they are to try and secure the services of the player, as Manchester City and former Bayern Munich manager, Pepe Guardiola, flew to Portugal earlier in the week with the manager apparently set to make a big come the January transfer window.
Having come through the ranks of Barcelona, the youngster is now impressing at Benfica having joined only this summer. The player is only 5’7 tall, and whilst he is not known for his defensive prowess, he is certainly considered a good asset to have, known for his attacking intent, positional awareness and composure on the all ball for such a young player.
Deemed to have a very bright footballing future, it would be a good asset for Bayern to nab, but with David Alaba and Juan Bernat also taking up the shirt in the left back position, the signing is not a desperate one for the German club.
Robert Lewandowski is set to sign a new Bayern Munich contract until 2021, according to reports in Germany.
Lewandowski, 27, joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, when he signed a deal with the Bavarians until 2019.
The Poland international this season has scored 36 goals in 38 matches in all competitions for Bayern and has also impressed for his country, leading them to this summer’s Euro 2016 as captain.

This will be a big signing for Bayern. Lewa has been a critical part of the Bavarian squad since joining the team. I can’t imagine Bayern with Lewa at another club, and I’m very glad that this signing looks like it will happen, and happen soon.

It is only a five-paragraph story in the Daily Express, but it has been enough to get Liverpool fans excited.
According to a story written by Paul Joyce, Mario Gotze has “privately indicated” he wants to be reunited with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
— Jurgen Brodinho (@Brodinho) March 28, 2016
The Bayern Munich man played with Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, and, to make the potential deal even more attractive to Reds fans, the report says that Liverpool could get the World Cup final hero for just £15-20m because he is out of contract in the summer of 2017.

I find it disappointing that Gotze has not had more opportunities in the Bayern squad. He’s a great player, and at just 23, he has a tremendous upside. Who knows how good he will be in a couple of years when he hits his stride? It just seems like it would be a good idea to renew his contract at Bayern for a couple of years until we really see what he is capable of.
